Suzuki India has hiked the price of its flagship 125cc maxi-style scooter, the Burgman Street BS6, for the first time. Priced at Rs 79,700 (ex-showroom Delhi), the scooter has become Rs 1,800 more expensive than when it was launched back in February 2020. The scooter’s mechanicals and feature list remain untouched, though. Almost all major two-wheeler manufacturers have resumed operations now that the lockdown restrictions due to the pandemic have been lifted. Check out the details here

The Suzuki Burgman Street is powered by a BS6-compliant 124cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that churns out 8.7PS at 6750rpm and 10Nm at 5500rpm. Compared to the BS4 scooter, the peak power has remained unchanged but the torque output has gone down slightly, by 0.2Nm. The BS6-compliant version is also 2kg heavier than before, at 110kg kerb.

It is loaded with features like LED headlamp and tail lamp, a digital instrument cluster, a windscreen, footrest on the apron, an underseat DC charger, 21.5-litre underseat storage space along with a cubby hole on the apron and utility hooks. Suzuki unveiled the Burgman Street MotoGP Edition at Auto Expo 2020 but it hasn’t been launched yet. In terms of rivals, the BS6 Burgman Street goes up against TVS NTorq 125, Honda Activa 125, Yamaha RayZR 125 and Hero Maestro Edge 125.
