This is the first time Suzuki has increased the prices of the two bikes since their launch
- The BS6-compliant Suzuki Gixxer 250 twins were launched in May.
- They are now dearer by around Rs 2,000.
- No other changes apart from the prices.
The prices of the Suzuki Gixxer 250 BS6 and the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 BS6 have been increased for the first time since their launch. Check out the detailed ex-showroom Delhi price list along with its comparison against the previous prices in the table below:
Suzuki unveiled all three motorcycles at the Auto Expo in February. They were slated to be launched earlier but the coronavirus pandemic pushed things a little further, and the bikes were finally launched in May.
Fortunately, the premium isn’t all that high for a bike of its class. There are no changes to the motorcycles other than the price hike. Compared to the BS4-compliant models, the BS6 bikes do not get any new features apart from the cleaner engine. The BS6-compliant 249cc single-cylinder fuel-injected engine with unique oil-cooling makes 26.5PS and 22.2Nm, which is 0.4Nm less than the BS4 engine. The only difference in the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 MotoGP Edition, compared to the regular variant is the exclusive MotoGP-themed livery and sporty rim stickers. The rest of the mechanicals have remained unchanged.
The Suzuki Gixxer 250 will take on the Bajaj Dominar 250 and the upcoming Yamaha FZ25 BS6. Other alternatives include the Bajaj Pulsar 220F and the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. On the other hand, the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 goes up against the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 and the KTM RC200.
