India’s first mild-hybrid scooter is available at a tempting price
Few days after launching the FZ 25 Monster Energy MotoGP Edition, Yamaha India has announced the pricing of the new Fascino 125 FI Hybrid, the first scooter in India to come with hybrid tech. The scooter was first showcased during the launch of the Yamaha FZ-X.
The Yamaha Fascino 125 FI Hybrid has been priced at Rs 70,000 for the drum brake variant while the disc brake variant will set you back by Rs 76,530. Interestingly, the outgoing model was priced at Rs 72,030 (drum) and Rs 75,530 (DLX disc). Considering the bunch of changes that come with this model, the Japanese brand has priced this scooter quite aggressively.

The Fascino 125 FI Hybrid is powered by the same fuel-injected 125cc motor, but it now comes with a smart motor generator that functions as electric motor assist when you accelerate from a stop. It now produces 8.2PS (same as before), but the torque has gone up by 0.6Nm to 10.3Nm. To know more about how the mild-hybrid system functions, read this story.
Yamaha has also equipped the scooter with a bunch of new features, including LED illumination, a new digital console and smartphone connectivity via Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X App, USB charging, and side-stand engine cutoff. However, some of these features are restricted to the disc variant.
The Yamaha Fascino 125 Hybrid goes up against the likes of the Suzuki Access 125 and Honda Activa 125. However, given the plethora of features, the unique mild-hybrid engine, and competitive pricing, the Yamaha is certainly a tempting proposition. The scooter will hit showrooms at the end of this month.
