The updated version commands a premium of Rs 2,000 over its predecessor
- The Yamaha FZS 25 comes in two new colours replacing the three colour options earlier available.
- On the other hand, the FZ 25 continues to be available in the same colours as before.
- No mechanical changes on either of the variants.
Yamaha has updated the FZS 25 with two new colour schemes: Matte Copper and Matte Black. These two replace the blue, white and green colour variants. The updated Yamaha FZS 25 is now priced at Rs 1,43,300, which is Rs 2,000 more than its predecessor.
The Japanese bikemaker has retained the Yamaha FZ 25’s Metallic Black and Racing Blue colour schemes, and they are priced at Rs 1,38,800, the same as the FZ 25’s Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition variant. All prices ex-showroom Delhi.

The Matte Copper shade in the FZS 25 looks snazzy, and the colour goes well with the contrasting black highlights on the bodywork. On the other hand, the Matte Black scheme is perfect for those who want that stealthy look. It also gets the 'FZ 25' logo and pinstripes finished in gold. The two colour variants also get premium-looking gold-finished alloys.
These aside, there have been no changes to the bike's features or mechanicals. The FZS 25 gets knuckle guards and a taller windshield compared to the standard FZ 25. The two bikes share a 249cc single-cylinder air-oil-cooled engine, good for 20.8PS and 20.1Nm, mated to a 5-speed transmission. Notable features include an all-LED headlight, negative-LCD instrument cluster with real time mileage indicator apart from the other run-of-the-mill data, and dual-channel ABS.
The updated Yamaha FZS 25 competes with the Bajaj Pulsar F250 and the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. The latter is the most feature-packed one among the trio as it gets segment-first riding modes, adjustable suspension and even a smartphone compatible instrument cluster with turn-by-turn navigation. We feel Yamaha could’ve offered the updated FZS 25 at least smartphone connectivity and navigation along with the new colours to make it a more well-rounded proposition than before.
