Besides an updated motor, the BS6 R15 V3.0 gets cosmetic updates and features. Here’s all you need to know
Yamaha has launched the BS6 R15 V3.0 in India. It follows the launch of the BS6 versions of the FZ-FI and FZS-FI. Along with an updated motor, Yamaha has equipped the R15 V3.0 with new features and new graphics. Here’s what you need to know about the BS6 R15 V3.0.
Gets new livery:
The BS6 R15 V3.0 now comes in three colour options: Racing Blue, Thunder Grey and Darknight. Of these, the Racing Blue colour option comes with blue painted wheels instead of black. Each colour option has a different livery.

Gets new features:
New on the feature list is a dual horn setup and a side stand engine cutoff switch that prevents the motorcycle from starting if the side stand is down. While the BS4 model came with an optional rear Metzeler radial tyre, the new bike comes with MRF REVZ rear radial tyre as standard.

BS6 motor loses on performance:
The 155cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor is now BS6 compliant but loses a bit of performance in the process. It now delivers 18.6PS at 10,000rpm and 14.1Nm at 8500rpm. That’s a drop of 0.7PS and 0.6Nm over the BS4 version. Thankfully Yamaha has managed to keep the motorcycle’s 142kg weight unchanged so the performance drop should be minimal.
Gets a nominal price hike:
The new BS6 R15 V3.0 costs Rs 1,45,900 (ex-showroom Delhi). It is around Rs 6,000 more than the BS4 variant. That’s a decent hike for the updated BS6 motor as well as cosmetic and feature updates. The new motorcycle will reach Yamaha dealerships by the third week of December.
