The Chinese bike maker will bring a 300cc variant of the fully faired motorcycle to India next year

  • The CFMoto 250SR is based on the 250NK.
  • There’s no news on whether the new 250SR will be Euro 5-compliant or not.
  • CFMoto could bring its bigger cousin, the 300SR, to India by April 2020.

CFMoto will finally unveil its first 250cc fully faired sportbike, the 250SR, tomorrow at the 2019 EICMA. The quarter-litre sportbike has been spotted in production form several times in the past couple of months, so we do know quite a bit about the motorcycle.

The upcoming CFMoto 250SR is essentially a faired variant of the 250NK, which is sold in the international markets. The fully faired variant will be powered by the same 249.2cc, liquid-cooled motor as seen on the 250NK. In the naked variant, this powerplant belts out 26.5PS of power and 22Nm of torque. However, we expect the Chinese bike maker to tweak the engine to suit its sporty character. Apart from this, the 250SR will get the same suspension and braking hardware as the 250NK.

As much as we would like another fully faired quarter-litre motorcycle coming to our shore, but the reality is CFMoto will not bring this to India. Instead, the bike maker will be launching the 300SR, which, as you guessed it, will be a faired variant of the 300NK. There’s no word about its India launch, but we expect the new 300SR to be launched in India by April next year. As far as the price is concerned, it could retail at around Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 2.8 lakh (ex-showroom). When launched, the 300cc fully faired motorcycle will rival the TVS Apache RR 310, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the Benelli 302R.
