The even better news is that we’ll be getting a bigger 300cc version here in India!

  • The CFMoto 250SR is essentially the faired version of the 250NK.
  • It was spotted in production guise last month.
  • It will be the smallest faired bike from CFMoto.

CFMoto is all set to unveil the 250SR today at the 2019 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy. The press conference is scheduled to commence at 5:50pm Central European Time, which is 10:20pm in Indian Standard Time. We will be reporting the event live, so stay tuned for updates!

That said, the more interesting piece of news is that CFMoto plans to launch the bigger-engined 300SR for the Indian market in mid-2020. This particular model is based on the 300NK which is already on sale in India. When launched, the 300SR will go up against the KTM RC 390, TVS Apache RR 310, Yamaha YZF-R3, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Benelli 302R.

The 250SR, on the other hand, is essentially a faired version of the 250NK which is sold abroad. CFMoto unveiled the concept version in May 2019, and the production-spec bike was spied last month. The motorcycle is likely to be powered by 250NK’s 292cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor. However, expect CFMoto to tune the engine for sportier dynamics. For reference, the engine in the naked bike generates 28PS of power and 25Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed transmission.

Going by the spy shots, the production bike will feature an inverted fork and rear monoshock. It will also be equipped ABS-enabled disc brakes on both ends with a radial caliper up front. In European markets, the 250SR will be A2 license-friendly and will be ideal for rookie riders.
