The brand’s pricing strategy for its first BS6 bike is sure to raise some eyebrows
Last month, CFMoto had sneakily teased the 300NK BS6. Now, in an equally low-key affair, the Chinese brand has launched its entry-level streetfighter at Rs 2.29 lakh (ex-showroom). While most manufacturers have had to bump up prices in these BS6 times, CFMoto has managed to keep it exactly the same as that of the BS4 model.
Is there a change in performance? We aren’t sure as the brand has not yet sent out any official word on the engine specs, however, we are trying to get in touch with CFMoto for the updated specs. That said, we do not expect any major change to the 292cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is likely to produce 28PS at 8800rpm and 25Nm at 7200rpm. At 151kg, the BS4 version was fairly lightweight, and even if it does put on a few kilos in the BS6 avatar, it is likely to remain one of the lightest bikes in its segment.
There seem to be no aesthetic changes or new features to the CFMoto 300NK BS6. The bike gets the same LED headlight and DRL, which has an uncanny resemblance to that of the BMW G 310 R BS6. As for the features, expect the bike to pack the existing full-colour instrument console and dual-channel ABS.
Though the official specifications are yet to be released, the CFMoto 300NK will square off against the BMW G 310 R, which carries a premium of almost Rs 20,000. However, what works for the Beemer is that it comes with a trusty service network across the country, while CFMoto has only five dealerships with no presence in the North and the East.
