CFMoto is planning to add a number of motorcycles to its international portfolio in the next few years. Here’s what we think which bikes will make their debut at the 2019 EICMA
The 2019 EICMA is just a few days from now and bike makers are planning to surprise everyone by bringing their latest two-wheelers to Milan. We already know to some extent what KTM, Benelli and Royal Enfield will bring. But what about Chinese brands, specifically CFMoto? In the past couple of months, we have seen several spy shots and reports suggesting that the Chinese brand is working on multiple projects. So here’s the list of motorcycles that we could see at CFMoto’s stall at the 2019 EICMA:
A 1000cc naked:
A couple of years back, CFMoto unveiled a predator-styled naked motorcycle, which looked absolutely insane. Luckily for us, CFMoto is planning to put the concept motorcycle into production and we could see it at the 2019 EICMA! The alienesque design is done by Kiska, the same firm responsible for penning most of the CFMoto bikes and KTMs. The unique headlamp and the enormous air ducts on either side are bound to be the talking point of the upcoming motorcycle. Why does it have massive air ducts? Well, they are there to cool its 1,000cc V-twin engine, making it one of the most powerful naked motorcycles ever to come out of China! Details about the motorcycle are limited as of now and we might get a closer look at the insane naked motorcycle in a few days.
A 700cc neo-retro motorcycle:
Patent images of CFMoto’s new neo-retro motorcycle had surfaced online a few months back, giving us a closer look at the company’s new motorcycle. Powering the neo-retro motorcycle will be a 700cc parallel-twin motor, which we believe is similar to the 650cc mill that the manufacturer is using in its 650 model lineup. In terms of cycle parts, the new motorcycle comes equipped with an inverted fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The images also reveal that it gets a wide handlebar, a single-piece seat, and the footpegs are slightly rear-set, which should offer a comfortable riding position.
250SR:
CFMoto’s current lineup consists of naked motorcycles, an adventure tourer and a GT motorcycle, but the company doesn’t have a fully faired sportbike, until now. We have already seen the production version of the motorcycle a couple of times now, hinting that CFMoto might actually bring the 250SR at this year’s EICMA. Essentially, the 250SR is a faired variant of the 250NK, which is sold internationally. It will be powered by the same 249.2cc liquid-cooled motor as the 250NK. In the naked variant, this motor belts out 26.5PS of power and 22Nm of torque. However, we believe that CFMoto might tune this motor to suit its sport character. For the Indian market though, the brand will be launching the 300SR, which, again, will essentially just be a faired version of the 300NK that is sold here.
Updated 400NK and 650NK:
Apart from all these new motorcycles, the Chinese brand could also unveil the 2020 iteration of the 400NK and the 650NK. Both the motorcycles were recently spotted with an updated design and a new paint scheme. The 2020 models look a bit sharper than their predecessors and could employ a Euro 5-compliant engine as well. We have done a detailed story on these motorcycles, which you can read here.
During CFMoto’s India launch, the company had confirmed that except for the sub-250cc models, it is planning to bring a range of motorcycles to our shores. So there is a small possibility that we might get to see some of the motorcycles which the bike maker will show at the 2019 EICMA in India as well.
