The Chinese EV has specs to take on the Ola S1 Pro and Ather 450X
In July last year, we got our hands on the type approval document of CFMoto's Zeeho AE8, and the Chinese bike maker has now launched the electric scooter in its home ground.
The e-scooter has retained its aggressive styling while it is now propelled by a Z-Core mid-mounted liquid-cooled electric motor that puts out a maximum of 12.5kW and an astonishing 218Nm. This motor offers a top speed of over 100kmph and takes it from 0-50kmph in 2.6 seconds. For reference, the Ola S1 Pro gets a claimed top speed of 115kmph and it goes from 0-40kmph in 3 seconds.
Powering the e-scooter is a dual-lithium ion battery pack that delivers a maximum range of 190km and requires six hours to fully charge.
On the features front, the Zeeho AE8 offers an LED headlight, NFC unlocking, three riding modes, and a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster (only top variant) that can be paired with a smartphone via the Zeeho app. Through this app, the rider can remote lock, check the vehicle stats, and also locate the e-scooter.

For braking, the e-scooter employs a disc brake at both ends with Brembo brake calipers, further assisted by Bosch dual-channel ABS. The Zeeho AE8 runs on 12-inch wheels that are wrapped in Maxxis semi-hot-melt tyres.
The Zeeho AE8 comes in four colours: Starship Silver, Lunar Eclipse Silver, Particle White and Meteorite Black. The e-scooter is available in two variants: Standard Version and S+. The former is priced at yuan 17,999 (around Rs 2.12 lakh), and the latter will set you back by yuan 21,699 (around Rs 2.55 lakh).
CFMoto might bring the Zeeho AE8 to our shores before the second quarter of 2022. In the meantime, you can have a look at the existing Ola S1 Pro, Ather 450X and the Simple One e-scooters.
