You don’t need to have a driver’s licence to ride this EV
Delhi-based Crayon Motors, an electric two-wheeler startup, has launched the Snow+ electric scooter at Rs 64,000. The Bajaj Chetak doppelgänger looks delightfully retro and gets a standard one-year warranty. More importantly, since it is a low-speed vehicle with a top speed of 25kmph, you can ride this EV without a driving licence or having it registered, for that matter.
The electric scooter is propelled by a 250W motor powered by a 48/60V VRLA/lithium-ion battery that gives it a claimed range of 70km. Braking has been entrusted to a front disc brake, assisted by a combi-braking system.

The Snow Plus features an LED headlight, a digital speedometer, a USB charging port, central locking, an anti-theft system, disc brakes, and navigation.
The Snow+ is offered in four colour options: Fiery Red, Sunshine Yellow, Classic Grey, and Super White. It competes with the BGauss A2, Hero Electric Optima and the Ampere Reo.
The Snow+ is available at 100 retail outlets in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bihar, and a few other states. The company says it will introduce two new high-speed models by the end of this month.
