The e-scooter will also have a variant focused on commercial usage
Detel, a brand usually associated with mobile phones and other electronic goods, ventured into the electric mobility territory, with the launch of the Easy e-scooter. The brand has now unveiled a new product, Easy Plus, at the India Auto Show 2021, slated to launch in April.
The Detel Easy Plus is an economic electric mobility solution for everyday commutes. It is powered by a 350-watt hub motor, paired with a 20Ah lithium-ion battery pack. Though the company hasn’t mentioned the charging time, it promises a range of 60km. While that may not seem like much, the Easy Plus gets pedals, which means you won’t be left stranded when the charge runs out.

Given that the e-scooter is primarily meant for small tasks, the top speed has been capped at 25kmph. The Easy Plus gets a telescopic fork and dual shocks at the rear. Braking duties are handled by drum brakes at both ends. LEDs take care of illumination all around. The e-scooter may seem like it could carry only one person, but the load capacity is actually set at an impressive 150kg!
The brand is already developing another variant for commercial usage, called the Easy Loader. The e-scooter shares the battery and motor with the Easy Plus, but gets different wheels, a wider floorboard, and provision to load luggage at both ends. Its load capacity is rated at 200kg.
The Detel Easy Loader will go on sale by the end of this year and take on the recently launched Okinawa Dual and the Hero Nyx HX. As for the Easy Plus, the e-scooter is expected to be priced around Rs 60,000. It will go up against the low-speed scooter range from Okinawa, Hero Electric, and Ampere.
