India gets another relatively affordable electric supersport

Ferrato Disruptor Launched

Okaya has launched the Ferrato Disruptor in India for an ex-showroom price of Rs 1,59,000 (including electric mobility promotion scheme subsidy). Ferrato is a sub-brand under Okaya and is focused on the premium electric bikes segment.

The Ferrato Disruptor comes with a typical supersport design, featuring a full fairing. The e-bike comes with clip-ons and a rear set footpeg setup. The design overall looks quite good and the split headlight setup gives the bike a proper big bike look and feel. The motor produces a peak torque output of 228Nm and a nominal torque output of 45Nm. The Disruptor has a claimed top speed of 95kmph

Powering the Disruptor is a mid-mounted motor that produces a peak power output of 6.37kW and a continuous power output of 3.3kW. The motor is mated to a 4kWh battery pack, which gives a claimed range of 129 kilometers. The battery takes 5 hours to charge from 0-100 percent and Okaya is offering a 3 year/30,000km warranty.

It is suspended on a telescopic fork and a monoshock. The bike rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends. Braking duties are handled by discs at the front and rear, with combined braking system (CBS) for safety.

In terms of features, the bike comes with a digital instrument console that displays speed, motor rpms, battery levels and other essential readouts. It also gets smartphone connectivity and related features such as vehicle finder and geo-fencer.

The brand is also offering a sound box as an optional accessory. The soundbox will emulate the sound of a regular petrol powered motorcycle, this is a good addition as it allows other riders in the street to be aware of the rider’s presence.

The Ferrato Disruptor goes up against other electric bikes in the market such as the Revolt RV400, Tork Kratos R, Matter Aera and the Kabira Mobility KM3000.
