Benelli has taken the wraps off a fully-faired 300cc machine at the Milan Motorcycle Show, which is christened as the Benelli Tornado 302. Being the first fully-faired motorcycle by the company after more than a decade, the bike comes with an additional track kit that boosts power up to an extra 40PS. With these lesser power and torque figures along with the calmer exhaust, the company has made sure that the bike passes Euro 4 emission norms.
Powering the bike is a 300cc, liquid-cooled, in-line twin cylinder engine that comes mated to a six-speed transmission setup. The engine cranks out a net power of 35hp at 12,000rpm along with a maximum torque of 27Nm at 9,000rpm and with this the company claims a top speed of 170kmph for the quarter-litre monster. Resembling the existing TNT 300, the suspension setup comprises of 41mm upside down forks at the front with a 45mm travel mono-shock at the rear. The braking power is delivered by 260mm dual disc brakes with four piston calliper at the front and 240mm disc brake with single piston calliper at the rear. Tornado 302 rides on 110/70-ZR17 while rear gets 150/60-ZR17 tyres mounted over 17-inch alloy wheels.
The seat has been set at a height of 790mm and the tank can store 14 litres of fuel. Benelli Tornado 302 comes with a generous style quotient incorporated with an aerodynamic and sporty front end. The white paint scheme along with the red and grey fine lines make the bike look appealing from all angles. Benelli has claimed that it would be launching the bike with an ABS unit which will control the bike effectively in case of an emergency. We can expect the bike to be launched in second half of 2016 and if we are fortunate, India would also be getting this 300cc Italian beauty.
