Garware Bikes can be booked from March

Garware Motors, Indian partner of Koran based motorcycle marker Hyosung hopes to sell around 2000 units of Hyosung bikes in India in its first year. Garware-Hyosung is going to launch three new superbikes in India in this year. The upcoming Hyosung bikes are Hyosung GT 650R (Street bike) Hyosung GT 650 (Naked) and Hyosung ST7 (Tourer/cruiser). Bookings of these bikes would be commenced from March and the deliveries of the vehicles will take place in April.

As per officials, the company to launch first GT 650R and ST7 in the March 2011 and these bike will be delivered in month of April 2011. Both the bikes will be priced at Rs. 550000 and Rs. 600000 respectively. With it, Garware motors to launch 10 dealers across the country. These bike will come via CKD (completely knocked down) route and it is the main reason of high price tag of the bikes. 

Now the company has invested Rs. 20 crore to set up an assembly plant near Pune. Here the company is to import all the parts to the bikes. The company hopes to assemble around 10 bikes per day and these CKD bikes. 

Hyosung GT650R is a flagship street/superbike model by the company which is powered by 4-Stroke, V Twin, 2 cylinders, Liquid cooled, DOHC engine while displacement of the engine is 650 cc that is capable to produce maximum power of 54.2kw at 9000rpm and top torque of 60.9 Nm at 7250rpm. If all goes well, the bike will compete with Suzuki GSXR 650R.

On the other hand, Hyosung ST7 which is specially designed for the bold people has been loaded with Liquid cooled 90° V-twin DOHC, 4-valve per cylinder, 678.2cc engine that generates top power of 46.0kw at 8000rpm and delivers peak torque of 57.3Nm at 7000rpm. The bike has impressive body design and attractive look. In terms of power and performance, it will be major competitor of Harley Davidson Iron and Superlow.
