Today, scooters comprise the fastest growing segment of the Indian two-wheeler market, owing to the comfort and convenience offered by them. Among them, 110cc scooters offer many attractive features along with an affordable price tag. These are quickly becoming the first choice of those commuters that prefer convenience above fuel efficiency. There is a wide variety of 110cc scooters available in the market, and we compare the top three options among them.
Design and Styling:
Hero Maestro Edge is among the most sporty-looking scooters available in India with edgy styling. Its prominent features include a black visor, dual-tone front apron, dual-tone mirrors, digital-analog console, 3D logos, stylish LED tail lamp, integrated flap on the external fuel filling cap and a very sporty muffler.
TVS Jupiter looks elegant from the front with its beautiful apron-mounted turn indicators while the rear looks indistinguishable from other scooters available. Overall, it has a decent look and features the most stylish alloy wheels compared to any other scooter in India as standard.
Honda has added some sharp elements to its new Activa 3G. However, it retains nearly the same silhouette as its previous generation model. The new sharp features of the scooter include tweaked headlight, tail lamp and turn indicators along with the side panels, which also sport new 3D metallic logos now.
Engine and Performance:
Powering the Hero Maestro Edge is a new 110.9cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that makes up to 8.31bhp of power at 8,000rpm and torque up to 8.3Nm at 6,500rpm. It comes mated to a CVT gearbox that performs quite well on a daily commute.

It also features Integrated Braking System (IBS) for safe braking.
TVS Jupiter runs on 12-inch alloy wheels as standard and has drum brakes at both ends. The scooter gets telescopic forks at the front and a gas-charged monoshock at the rear.
Honda Activa, the most popular scooter in the segment, misses on most of the latest features that its rivals offer. It gets the traditional 10-inch steel plate wheels along with bottom-link type front suspension. At the rear, it has a hydraulic monoshock and both the wheels get drum braking units with Combi Braking System (CBS) to reduce the braking distance.

Hero Maestro Edge, TVS Jupiter and Honda Activa 3G are priced at Rs. 49,500, Rs. 47,989, Rs. 49,517 (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.
