Harley-Davidson will be discontinuing two of its ambitious two-wheeled offerings- Superlow and Fatboy Special from the next year. Both the cruiser bikes from H-D Sportster and Softail not only failed to fulfill the expectations of the manufacturer but also did not receive a good sale response from the customers. As a result, the company has decided to discontinue both the bikes from the Indian market and will not be selling them from 2016.
Official website of Harley- Davidson AG still showing these models in the line-up for the year 2015, but both the motorcycles are excluded from the 2016 line-up. Fatboy Special and Superlow cruisers are priced at Rs 6.32 lac and Rs 16.24 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi), respectively and were sold as Completely Knocked Down (CKD) units but could not find any takers as they failed to impress the Indian audiences.
Harley Davidson India offers an extensive range of 11 models from its 6 platforms which are Street, Sportster, Dyna, Softail, V-Rod and Touring. All of these platforms show off a distinct personality and serve to the varied sensibilities of a wide range of customers.
Currently, the cruiser bike manufacturer is having a tough competition from Triumph Motorcycles and Indian Motorcycles in the Indian market.
