Harley Davidson SuperLow and Iron 883 launched

Harley Davidson India has launched its new cruiser bikes models in Indian market namely Harley Davidson SuperLow 883 and Harley Davidson Iron. The bikes are priced at Rs. 550000 and 650000 (ex-showroom). Both the recently launched bikes are completely knocked down (CKD) and this is the main reason of their cheap price. According to the company statement, the delivery of the Harley Davidson SuperLow 883 and Harley Davidson Iron will begin from 1st January, 2011 at HD's five dealership outlets.

Harley Davidson SuperLow 883 is a very comfortable and easy to ride cruiser bike that has 883cc V-Twn engine and clean styling appearance that attracts buyers. These bike are fuel efficient and very good performer in the Harley's stable. Its low seat height and broad wheels give crazy image in the segment. The another cruiser bike, Harley Davidson Iron is also packed with same 883cc powerplant and is very fuel efficient as the other news HD bike.

The US based Harley Davidson has started its activities in Indian market in 2009 and, at present, the company has 12 bikes in India which belong to cruiser segment; the number will be 14, if we include these new arrivals. The company has opened its five outlets in India like New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chandigarh and Hyderabad. All the recently launched bikes will be available at these leading stores.

Harley Davidson is the major competitor of Royal Enfield which sells major cruiser bikes in India and abroad. At present, Harley Davidson portfolio includes Harley Davidson Cvo, Harley Davidson Dyna, Harley Davidson Softail, Harley Davidson Sportster, Harley Davidson Touring and Harley Davidson V Rod.

The company wants to spread its wings in Indian market, hence recently announced it's manufacturing plant in Haryana. It is expected that Harley Davidson will launch more affordable bikes in India through its assembly plant in Bawal, Haryana.
