Harley-Davidson India is expected to launch a new motorcycle by the end of January 2016. The new offering will most probably replace the SuperLow or FatBoy Special that were discontinued at the start of this year. Following the discontinuation of these models, the prices of all Harley bikes were updated which came into effect from January 8. According to carandbike.com, the new motorcycle will be an updated version of SuperLow with redesigned frame and new suspension setup. However, it will house the same 883cc engine that produces 70Nm of peak torque and was present in the outgoing model. The new bike could also be the replacement of FatBoy Special.
Harley-Davidson India hinted towards the launch of a new motorcycle in the invitation for the Great Desert Ride which will take place from January 27 to 30. However, the company has not disclosed any detail of the new product till now. The bike is expected to arrive in India via Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route like other offerings from the American bike manufacturer. Harley Davidson India lineup consists of Street 750, Iron 883, Forty-Eight, Street Bob, Fat Bob, Fat Boy, Breakout, Heritage Softail Classic, Night Rod, Road King, Street Glide Special and CVO Limited.
The company is planning to celebrate the beginning of 2016 riding season at the 4th India H.O.G. Rally. It will be held from February 18 and is going to be the biggest national Harley rally which India has witnessed till date. Speaking about the rally, Vikram Pawah, Managing Director, Harley-Davidson India said, “The India H.O.G. Rally is going to be a grand celebration of the adventure-loving, rebellious spirit of Harley-Davidson and we look forward to riding with our customers, many of whom will be attending it for the very first time.”
