The scooters have been given to soldiers with disability

Hero MotoCorp has partnered with the Directorate of Indian Army Veterans and, in an attempt to salute the commendable efforts of army veterans disabled in the service, the automaker has handed over specially made Hero Destini 125 scooters to the soldiers.

The Hero Destini 125 scooters, to make them disabled-friendly, are fitted with two auxiliary wheels at the rear. These retrofitted scooters were given to soldiers in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

Powering the Hero Destini 125 is a 124.6cc, single-cylinder engine producing 9.1PS and 10.4Nm. The scooter also gets an idling stop system and comes with features like a semi-digital instrument cluster, USB charging socket, under-seat storage light and side stand indicator. Additionally, it can also be equipped with Hero Connect connectivity tech.

The scooter is suspended on a telescopic fork up front and a monoshock absorber at the rear. Braking duties are handled by 130mm drum brakes on both ends while the bike rolls on 10-inch wheels.

Summing up, Hero MotoCorp recently launched a more feature-packed variant of the Destini 125 called the Xtec. Check out what it comes with here.
