The only catch is that it is solely meant for commercial use
- The Hero Electric Nyx HX is around Rs 15,000 less than the Nyx HX dual-battery variant that’s meant for private use.
- Depending on the variant, the B2B-specific Nyx HX offers a range from 82km to 210km per charge.
- It comes with different levels of smartphone connectivity solutions too.
In a bid to capitalise on the fast-growing business-to-business logistics industry, Hero Electric has launched an electric scooter with by far the highest claimed range in the Indian electric two-wheeler segment. The newly-launched Hero Electric Nyx HX offers a claimed range of 82km to a whopping 210km per charge, depending on the variant. The price starts from Rs 64,640 for the base variant and Rs 74,990 for the Nyx HX Pro version. These are ex-showroom, and are inclusive of the FAME II subsidy.

Powering the electric scooter is a 600-watt motor linked to three 51.2V/ 30Ah lithium ion battery packs. They have been installed in such a way that they don’t interfere with the dedicated cargo area. The charging time takes about 4-5 hours, which is pretty reasonable for a battery pack with such a generous range. The limited top speed of just 42kmph would have also helped in achieving such a high range. To enhance the scooter’s practicality, Hero Electric also offers four levels of smartphone connectivity solutions ranging from simple bluetooth interface to the top-of-the-line remote surveillance, diagnostic solutions and the likes.
To enhance practicality for commercial purposes, the pillion seat has been replaced with a large lockable hard-case compartment to carry goods. The electric scooter’s underbone frame is suspended on telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers. Brakes include drums on both ends with regenerative braking system as standard.
