Hero MotoCorp is about to launch its quarter-litre motorcycle- HX250R in the first half of 2015. The company has already unveiled the bike in January 2015 and exhibited at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo in February. According to the latest reports, it is expected to be priced around Rs. 1.5 lacs.
You can clearly see the influence of company’s new technology partner- Erik Buell Racing (EBR) in the designing of HX250R. The super sport styled motorcycle gets a full body fairing with large wind shield, split pattern headlights and LED DRLs. Its masculine fuel tank and the racing style split seat look inspired by a proper track machine. The raised tail of the motorcycle ends with an under-seat exhaust, which provides an extra ordinary appeal to it.
Propelling the Hero HX250R is the most powerful 250cc, single-cylinder engine, which has been claimed to deliver 31PS of maximum power along with a peak torque of 26Nm. The liquid-cooled motor will come mated to a 6-speed gearbox and powered by an electronic fuel injection (EFI) system.
The bike has telescopic forks at the front and horizontally mounted mono-shock suspension at the rear. It gets a dual disc braking system, and the ABS will be offered as optional feature. The Hero HX250R will compete with the other entry-level performance machines like Honda CBR250R, KTM Duke and RC twins, Hyosung GT250R, upcoming Bajaj Pulsar 200SS and upcoming Yamaha R25.
