Removed from the official website, the Hero Maestro will now be available till stock lasts.
Hero MotoCorp had already launched the updated version of its popular scooter, the Maestro Edge, about a year ago, while continuing to offer the old Maestro as well. Now, finally, Hero has removed the older model from its lineup, maybe to focus more on the advanced products. However, most of the dealers are still selling the older model as well, that means the scooter will be available in the market till stocks are cleared.
According to some reports, Hero MotoCorp is soon going to axe a few other models from its portfolio as well, which will vacate some space for new and advanced products. Based on a completely new platform, the Maestro Edge is mechanically superior to its predecessor and looks more stylish as well. Moreover, the base LX trim of the new scooter costs just around Rs 1,000 more over the older model, which makes it a more sensible option.
Powered by a newly developed 110cc motor, the Hero Maestro Edge gives a punchier performance for a better ride experience. The single-cylinder, air-cooled model makes 8.4PS of power and a peak torque of 8.3Nm. Besides a sporty design, the new model gets interesting features like bigger 12" front wheel, telescopic front suspension, external fuel filling with integrated fuel lid cover, digital-analog console, USB mobile-charging port, boot light, Integrated Braking System (IBS), LED tail lamp and engine immobiliser (anti-theft system).
The Maestro Edge has been made available in two different trims, the LX and the VX, priced at Rs 49,930 and Rs 51,380 (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. While the latter gets all the above-mentioned features, the prior one misses on a few of them including the alloy wheels.
