Hero MotoCorp, the world's No.1 two-wheeler manufacturer is reportedly testing a new bike, which is most probably the new 250cc bike from the manufacturer. Autocar India, today released two spy images of a faired-in sportsbike, which has clear traits of Karizma family bikes. Hero might launch the bike with Karizma ZMR moniker as its new flagship vehicle. In recent days, the sales of Karizma R and ZMR has fallen, and the new Karizma ZMR 250cc is Hero's effort to revive its sales in affordable performance bike segment. The new 250cc bike will take on rivals including the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS, KTM Duke 200 and Honda CBR250R.

The images reveal that there are some typical Hero styling in bike, Karizma like Full fairing, skinny astride alloy wheels, similar suspension and disc brakes like the Karizma ZMR. It also gets clip-on handlebars, alloy footrests and clear lens indicators. Also a new tapered, minimalistic mudguard brings up the rear with a tyre hugger, which gives it a sportbike look. And finally, Hero has also used an exposed drive-chain and split seats. The Karizma like telescopic forks are standard in front, while the similar set of gas-charged shock absorbers can be seen behind. However, the bike might have two variants as there are two test bikes one with rear disc brake and one with a drum brake at rear.

As of now, no details have been provided by Hero MotoCorp, but we are expecting that the bike will use a new four-stroke, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, fuel injected engine, which is co-developed by EBR-AVL and Hero. The engine might displace around 250cc and will be coupled with a five-speed transmission. As the bikes are in the final stage of testing, we can speculate the expected launch in the upcoming festive season with a price tag of Rs. 1.25 lakh. Stay tuned for more updates.
