The Himalayan 450 Rally has been spotted for the first time, ahead of EICMA 2024 where we expect it to be officially unveiled. The rally kit features a combination of accessories which turn the Himalayan 450 into a rugged rally bike, changing its design.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 rally kit includes a new fly screen and a headlight grill at the front. It also gets wider handlebars, which are positioned higher than the one we have seen on the stock bike. Royal Enfield is also offering full-length knuckle guards and an aluminum brace, along with better protection in the form of a chunkier engine bash plate and a radiator guard.
The bike features a differently designed rear section, which is larger compared to what we have seen on the stock bike. The bike also gets a new single-piece rally seat, which increases the seat height from 825mm to 855mm.
Recently, some spy shots of the bike surfaced online, which revealed a different exhaust. The brand had announced that they would be offering a custom exhaust from Arrow as part of the rally kit. It wasn’t supposed to be launched in India, as per earlier reports.
In the new spy shots, we can see a new exhaust end can, though, this one seems to be an RE-branded unit. That said, we will have to wait and see if it affects the bike’s performance in any way.
Overall, the rally kit gives the Himalayan a really aggressive The accessories it offers seem to be really useful bits for hardcore off-roading enthusiasts. Other than the design changes due to the addition of the new rear section, the bike remains unchanged. It will be powered by the same 452cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder ‘Sherpa’ engine which outputs 40PS and 40Nm. On the standard Himalayan, the engine is linked to a 6-speed gearbox, with a slip-and-assist clutch.
