Just after two months of announcing their tie-up with Hyosung, Pune-based DSK Motowheels is now ready to the Indian biking world by storm yet again with the launch of Hyosung GT250R. This alliance had already been selling Hyosung GT650R, Hyosung GT650N and Hyosung ST7 Cruiser in India, but all of these premium products catered to a selected few motorbike enthusiasts of the country. The reason being the fact that each of these three products came with a price tag of over Rs 4 lakh. But the newest member of Hyosung's Indian family may be well prepared to attend to a larger market, while it also poses fierce competition to other Japanese motorbike manufacturers.
Priced at Rs 2.75 lakh, Hyosung DSK announced the launch of the GT650R's sibling on Tuesday in the capital of the country. And as much joy as the price tag brings to bike lovers of the country, it has made the company equally hopeful about its sales. They have projected a sales of 3000 units of Hyosung GT250R in the bike's first year in the country.
Moving on to the specifications, this sports monster is powered by a 249cc V-Twin four stroke engine that delivers a power of 27.61bhp and a torque of 22.07 Nm. Furthermore, the company claims that GT250R can deliver a top speed of 140kmph. The sports bike is currently being offered in three two-tone colours, namely, Silver + Red, Black + Red, and White + Red. It is being imported as a completely built unit for now, hence, the high price. But that may soon go down since DSK Hyosung is planning to set up a local manufacturing unit, which will allow them to localize production. This, in turn, will help the company lower the price further.
