Hyosung ponders to increase production in India

South Korean bike manufacturing company Hyosung, has a plan to open its production house in India. Hyosung coming to India with the strategy of utilizing the low cost production abilities of two wheelers in India. S&T Motors with its partner Garware Motors, who sales Hyosung Bikes in India, is all set to open its plant in the country to indulge the market of Europe, America and the Asian Pacific regions.
Garware Motors on Thursday launched its powerful and performance oriented Hyosung GT 650N in Indian auto sector. Hyosung GT 650N price in India is tagged at Rs 4.39 lakh – ex-showroom price Delhi. GT 650N is the third bike from the company, as it already launched its two sports bike Hyosung GT 650R and ST7 in India. Hyosung GT 650N is the second variant of its well renowned super bike Hyosung GT 650R.
Garware Motors and S&T Motor also has a plan to export and assemble the low versions of 150 cc and 250 cc bikes in India. According to Diya Garware, managing director of Pune-based Garware Motors, the company also aims China as its production base for Asia-Pacific regions. While the growth of Indian two wheeler market and its low cost of production allows the company to set up its plant in India and move into its favour.
In the words of Hyder Ali Khan, chief operating officer at Garware Motors, the company is focusing on 250 cc bikes in India, to enter the high volume segment. He also mentioned that the company also has a plan to improve its localization from 20 percent to the 30-40 percent with the help of 250 cc segment.
Hyosung already has a manufacturing plant in Pune and is all set to build its new plant at Wai in Maharashtra’s Satara district, where it is going to assemble motorcycles and scooters. For Know the R&D center of Hyosung will remain in Korea. Here the company is manufacturing bikes with high capacity engine in 250cc to 650cc range, while also construct terrain vehicles, scooters and electric vehicles.
