Gogoro has revealed the all-new CrossOver GX250 electric scooter along with the launch of their battery-swapping network in Delhi And Goa
Gogoro, a Taiwan-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer and battery swapping infrastructure company has unveiled its ‘CrossOver e-Scooter’ range in India, the brand has also launched its battery-swapping network in Delhi and Goa with plans to expand to Mumbai and Pune in the first half of 2024.
For the starting phase, the scooter and the battery swap service will only be available to business-to-businesses (B2B) in Delhi and Goa. The scooter will be available to consumers by the second quarter of 2024.
Gogoro plans to offer three models in India: CrossOver GX250, CrossOver 50, and CrossOver S. But only the CrossOver GX250 is available to businesses from now onwards, while the CrossOver 50 and CrossOver S will be available later in 2024. The CrossOver range will include several modifications specifically requested by Gogoro test riders in India.
The CrossOver series comes with a purposeful design and features large body panels. Gogoro calls it ‘the Ultimate Two-Wheel SUV’ and promises it to take on all kinds of terrains and offer a comfortable riding experience. It comes with lots of storage and customisation options.
Gogoro CrossOver GX250
The Gogoro CrossOver GX250 is fitted with a 2.5kW direct drive motor that can go beyond the speeds of 60kmph. The scooter promises a claimed range of 111km. It is the brand’s first made-in-India product and is manufactured in Maharashtra.
The e-scooter can handle larger loads while focusing on providing comfort and stability as it comes with spacious split seats. The CrossOver GX250 gets a high-strength all-terrain frame that provides a ground clearance of 176mm.
The rigid frame is claimed to significantly boosts the durability of the suspension. The suspension setup features a telescopic fork at the front with fork gaiters and long twin shock absorbers at the rear. The CrossOver comes with a front and rear disc brake. It rolls on 14-inch alloy wheels and weighs 126kg.
The CrossOver GX250 offers ample space for passengers and has plenty of storage options. The new mounting point expansion system has 26 locking points. The scooter comes with four cargo mounting areas, including a platform above the headlight, floorboard, seat and rear cargo space. This design makes it easy to meet various storage requirements. You can also flip up or remove the rear seat to add more cargo storage when needed and acts as a rider backrest too, just like Hero Electric Nyx.
Gogoro hasn’t yet revealed the price of the CrossOver GX250, but being a made-in-India product, we expect it to be priced competitively. It rivals the Hero Electric Nyx.
