With the launch of a new dealership in Chandigarh, Indian Motorcycle announced the availability of its newly-launched Scout Sixty in India.

Today, Polaris inaugurated the seventh dealership of the iconic Indian Motorcycle brand in India. The new dealership has been opened in Chandigarh, at the prime location of Industrial Area – Phase 1. Besides the new dealership opening, the company also announced the availability of its newly launched Indian Scout Sixty in the country, which was launched at Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Speaking on the occasion, Pankaj Dubey, managing director, Polaris India Pvt Ltd, said, “The emerging category of professionals in the upper middle and high-income groups is giving impetus to the premium bike industry in India. With over 100 years of American heritage, Indian Motorcycle is an engineering marvel synonymous with individuality and luxury. This new dealership in Chandigarh is part of the strategic expansion plans of Indian Motorcycle currently underway to bring the brand closer to its enthusiasts, wherever they are. Known for its cosmopolitan culture, Chandigarh provides a tremendous opportunity for an exclusive brand like ours to grow. Indian Motorcycle is already a well-established brand here with a large number of customers present in the city. This new dealership is aimed at providing brand enthusiasts greater accessibility and an opportunity to explore the authentic Indian Motorcycle lifestyle at their convenience.”

Along with the styling, the new Indian Scout Sixty also shares most of the mechanics with its sibling, the Scout. The liquid-cooled, V-twin motor is also the same unit, however, the displacement has been cut down from 1130cc (69 cu in) to 983cc (60 cu in). This resizing killed 22 horses, and the new one now makes 79PS of maximum power. The peak torque output of this middleweight cruiser is 88.8Nm at 5,800rpm, and it comes mated to a 5-speed transmission. The bike is available in three colour options, namely Thunder Black, Indian Motorcycle Red, and Pearl White. Besides the standard features, the Scout Sixty is compatible with 200 genuine accessories which are offered by the company.

Along with the 2016 Indian Scout Sixty, the company offers seven more cruisers in the country, including the Chief Classic, Chief Vintage, Chieftain, Chief Dark Horse, Springfield, Indian Scout and the Roadmaster. With the establishment of this new dealership in Chandigarh, Indian Motorcycle now claims the distinction of being the leading luxury bike brand with the widest and most extensive network of sales and after-sales service in the country.
