I think most of the readers are aware that the Japanese auto maker- Suzuki is planning to bring a fully faired 250cc motorcycle that will be christened as Gixxer 250 or GSX-R250. A new motorcycle has been spied in batch production at a Suzuki Facility in Japan and some reports are claiming that is is the GSX-R250. The bike seems to be a sport tourer motorcycle like Honda CBR 250R and it could share some features with the existing Gixxer range.
The spy pictures reveal that the all new motorcycle will get a different styling from any other faired Suzuki and it will feature clip-on handlebars along with split seat. The headlight pattern of the bike is looking inspired by the GSX-R750 and it has a masculine fuel tank as well. The fully digital instrument cluster of the bike is looking much similar to the existing Suzuki Gixxer and it could get the similar suspension set-up as well.
Its tyre specs are also expected to be similar to its sibling that comes with 100/80 section front and 140/60 section rear tyres. There will be a disc brake on both the front and the rear tyre and it can feature ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) either standard or as an option.
We are not sure about the engine specs of the upcoming Suzuki Gixxer 250, however, we believe that the company will not take risk with a parallel twin this time. Unlike the Inazuma 250, a big flop in India, the GSX-R250 can get a new 250cc single-cylinder motor. The engine is expected to be based on the Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology and it could be the lightest one in its respective segment.
The engine is expected to get a 6-speed transmission and Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system. The power output of the mill can be around 26-28bhp and the bike will compete with the offerings like Honda CBR 250R and Bajaj Pulsar RS 200. Suzuki Gixxer 250 is also expected to make debut at the upcoming Auto Expo in February 2016.
