Anupam Thareja, the co-founder of Jawa Motorcycles, has revealed that the deliveries for the dual-channel ABS variants of Jawa and Jawa Forty Two will commence from the last week of June. This is as per the brand’s schedule as it had earlier stated that the deliveries of dual-channel ABS variants will commence after June 2019. So those who had booked in advance should be receiving their dual-channel ABS-equipped motorcycles based on their booking number soon.
However, if one were to head to the dealership and book the bike now, there will reportedly be a 9-10 month waiting period, and here’s the reason for the delay. The dual-channel ABS-equipped variants were launched back in December 2018. The dual-channel ABS version of the Jawa is priced at Rs 1.72 lakh whereas the Jawa Forty Two costs Rs 1.63 lakh (both, ex-showroom Delhi). These two variants are Rs 8,942 more expensive than their single-channel ABS-equipped counterparts.

The two motorcycles draw power from a 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor. It produces 27PS of power and 28Nm of torque, working in conjunction with a 6-speed transmission. The two bikes also share the same underpinnings, which include a telescopic fork and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. The dual-channel ABS variant comes with disc brakes on both ends.
