Jawa Perak Bobber Deliveries Begin

The motorcycle was launched in November 2019

After its launch in November 2019, deliveries of the Jawa Perak bobber have now commenced. It was initially scheduled to begin from April 2, 2020, but had to be delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. 

The good news for those who have booked one and waited for so long is that the engine in the Perak BS6 has been tuned to make slightly more power and torque. At 30.64PS and 32.74Nm, the motorcycle is more powerful and torquey by 0.2PS and 1.74Nm respectively, compared to the output figures quoted earlier. Jawa says it has also optimised the gear ratios for a more involved riding experience. 

The motorcycle is priced at Rs 1,94,500 (ex-showroom Delhi), making it Rs 11,330 more expensive than the maroon colour dual-channel ABS variant of the standard Jawa. The first 13 motorcycles were delivered in Chandigarh, where customers from the Rolling Gold Motorcycle Club took part in a short ride. 

As far as practicality is concerned, the Jawa Perak has a low seat height of just 750mm, making it accessible for shorter riders. It also weighs a manageable 175kg kerb. However, some riders may not like the fact that it is strictly a single seater due to the design of the swingarm. But to be fair, bobbers are meant to be minimalistic and the Perak is an authentic example of one.
