- The 2020 model features a new LED headlight and a 4.3-inch colour TFT console with smartphone connectivity.
- It even gets stickier Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tyres.
The BS6-compliant Kawasaki Ninja 650 has started rolling into dealerships all across India post its launch early last month. The bike is priced at Rs 6,24,000 (ex-showroom), which makes it Rs 35,000 more expensive than the BS4 model. It’s available in two liveries: Lime Green and Pearl White, either of which can be booked for a token amount of Rs 49,000 through Kawasaki’s website: https://kawasaki-india.com.
For 2020, the Ninja 650 features a sharper fairing and new split LED headlight inspired by the Kawasaki Ninja 400. It also comes equipped with a new 4.3-inch colour TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity.
It draws power from a BS6-compliant 650cc parallel-twin engine that produces the same power and torque outputs as before -- 68PS at 8000rpm and 65.7Nm at 6700rpm. However, according to Kawasaki, the engine has been retuned for better mid-range grunt compared to the BS4 model. It retains the same 6-speed transmission and weighs the same (196kg) as the outgoing model.
In terms of underpinnings, the BS6 Ninja 650 features a new set of Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tyres. Its suspension and braking setup remain unchanged.
