[Update: Kawasaki has launched the Ninja ZX-25 in Indonesia. Know prices and more details here.]
Here’s how the Japanese pocket rocket looks in different liveries
- The 4-cylinder 250cc sportsbike will be launched in Indonesia in April.
- It is estimated to cost the equivalent of Rs 3.34 lakh in Indonesia.
- Its motor revs upto 20,000rpm and is rumoured to make close to 50PS!
Kawasaki is set to launch the Ninja ZX-25R and Indonesia will be the first market to receive it. The motorcycle is expected to cost around IDR 64.8 million (Rs 3.34 lakh) for the base version and IDR 73.2 million (Rs 3.78 lakh) for the top-spec variant. While Kawasaki had showcased the Ninja ZX-25R in just its official green and black KRT livery, the folks at Young Machine have gone ahead and rendered five different colour iterations of the motorcycle. The liveries are blue/black, white/orange, white/grey. orange/grey and a full grey version.

The quarter-litre sportsbike has been in the news owing to its screamer of a motor. While Kawasaki has not yet released engine specifications, the Ninja ZX-25R is rumoured to make close to 50PS! Despite being a 250cc machine, Kawasaki has given the Ninja ZX-25R some serious software and hardware. The software comes in the form of rider modes, traction control, dual-channel ABS and a quickshifter.

The underpinnings consist of a steel trellis frame, Showa SFF-BP fork and a horizontal backlink monoshock. It gets disc brakes all around with the large front disc getting a radially mounted caliper. The Ninja ZX-25R comes shod with Dunlop Sportmax radial tyres.
It is highly unlikely that Kawasaki will launch the Ninja ZX-25R in India given its high pricing. Even if Kawasaki were to get the Ninja ZX-25R to India via the CKD route, it would still cost close to Rs 5 lakh, a number that could be hard to digest in our price-sensitive market.
