The Austrian motorcycle maker- KTM Supermotorcycle AG has released the first official image of its upcoming, flagship adventure bike- KTM 1290 Super Adventure. The bike has been designed on the lines of existing 1190 Adventure R, sharing the power-mill with 1290 Super Duke R.
Apart from a little tweaked body work, the new 1290 Super Adventure gets a split pattern seat and a longer adjustable wind shield. The company has used the advanced 1,301cc V-twin in the bike, which delivers 180PS in the Super Duke R. However, the company might alter the motor for better torque delivery along with different power figures.
Other features include dual front and single rear disc brakes, inverted front forks and fully adjustable rear mono-shock suspension. The new KTM 1290 Super Adventure will be loaded with lots of advance safety features like Ride-by-Wire technology, C-ABS (Combined-Antilock Braking System) and off-road mode, MTC (Motorcycle Traction Control), TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) and the latest Bosch's MSC (Motorcycle Stability Control).
The Super Adventure is expected to be unveiled at the 2015 EICMA and will be positioned against the above 1000cc adventure machines like BMW R 1200 GS Adventure.
