Mahindra Gusto 125 to be Launched on Jan 12

Mahindra is finally launching its much-awaited 125cc scooter, Mahindra Gusto 125, in India. The launch will take place on January 12, 2015 and it will be the second 125cc scooter from Mahindra. Earlier codenamed G108, Gusto 125 was recently spied testing in Pune. Gusto 110 is the first successful scooter from Mahindra’s scooter lineup that also consists of Duro and Rodeo. The new Gusto gets a 125cc engine which is expected to generate power and torque of around 10bhp and 10Nm respectively. The scooter is expected to offer a mileage of 55 kmpl. This will compete against the likes of Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Swish and hence, is expected to be priced around Rs. 60,000 (ex-showroom).



In terms of styling, the upcoming scooter is expected to have similar design cues as the current 110cc machine with minor updates in order to differentiate the two. Gusto 125 is expected to get the entire feature list from the 110. Features include a height adjustable seat, self-locking mechanism, quick storage pocket under instrument cluster and a multi-function remote flip key along with guide lamps and large tubeless tyres. Besides these, the kick lever has been provided at the front, so that one can start it easily while being seated.

In October 2015, Mahindra two-wheelers launched a Special Edition of Gusto and its 300cc motorcycle, Mahindra Mojo to boost its sales. Mojo is powered by a 295cc, liquid-cooled, single cylinder engine that produces 27bhp of power with a torque of 30Nm. The bike was launched at an introductory price of Rs. 1.58 lac (ex-showroom, Delhi) but later its price was increased by Rs. 5,000.
