Mahindra & Mahindra to debut into bike segment in year 2010

Mahindra & Mahindra, one of the leading auto major, after a great achievement in the scooter segment in India, it's planning to turn into bike segment within this year. M&M motorcycle products will come with full range products capacity by the 2010. In addition to this, it will take final decision on continuation of its joint venture with Renault,which is french car maker company, in at least next 45 days. Mahindra & Mahindra vice-chairman and MD Anand Mahindra told reporters," we are going to be a full range maker. We are not also simply going to come out with one motorcycle products." he added. French based auto company, Renault motors has recently declared to establish its own distribution network to sell the products, being constructed with Japanese partner Nissan, which will be manufactured from the upcoming Chennai facility. Mahindra & Mahindra with Renault together launched its Mahindra Renault Logan in India, They had not get good response from the market. In the last one year sales ratio against Logan, it has fallen drastically and the JV currently sells about 550 units per month. M&M does not have any objection on Renault launching its any products alone. There is no decision on assembling the Mahindra Scorpio in the US. Mahindra & Mahindra said, if the market gets our products well so we will look forward for an assembly in the US.
