The flagship by Mahindra two-wheelers - Mojo, that was launched in October last year after it kept us waiting for five long years is finally getting an ABS soon. The bike is expected to arrive at the approaching Auto Expo and its launch has been confirmed by an official for April 2016. The 300cc Mojo had generated a huge amount of buzz but failed to meet the expectations of the company due to a bunch of factors.
As per reports, the new Mojo will be getting Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) from Continental. The unit would be switchable, which means it could be turned ON/OFF as per rider requirements. The brakes would be the same that comes in the existing version and would continue to be sourced from the brand - J Juan. If reports at Indian Auto Blog are to be believed, Mr. PS Ashok, Senior Vice President, Mahindra Two Wheelers Limited has revealed that the ABS version of Mojo is slated for India launch in April 2016. This was further confirmed by the spy shots of the bike by Motorbeam that got surfaced over the internet few months back with a dual-channel ABS.
Mechanically, the new Mahindra Mojo is unchanged and will continue to draw its power from a 295cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that develops 26.8bhp of power and 30Nm of torque. The bike rides on Pirelli Diablo Rosso II rubber that offers a decent grip and stability. Other impressive features include inverted telescopic forks at the front, analog-digital instrument cluster, stylish DRLs, LED tail lamps and much more. The ABS equipped Mojo would demand an extra premium over the existing version and will also be around 2kgs to 4kgs heavier due to the additional fitment. Stay tuned to get more updates!
