Mahindra seems to be on a roll when it comes to their two wheelers. They didn’t have a lot of success with their older scooters the Rodeo and the Duro but their latest entrant the Gusto seems to be doing well.
They launched a special edition of the Gusto in October this year and it looks like we’ll be seeing a face lifted version of that soon. Mahindra has confirmed the launch of their new scooter titled – The G108. We’re guessing this might just be a code name for now and that they’ll hopefully have a more creative name planned for it. By the code name itself, we can assume that it’s a 108cc engine powering the scooter. Now the Gusto is 109cc and the Rodeo and Duro are both 125cc scooters. That leaves us a little baffled with this 108 number. But if it is a face lift version of the Gusto then it should churn out 8bhp at 7,500rpm and 9Nm at 5,500rpm. It should also come with the Gusto’s popular features such as a height adjustable seat, remote flip key, find-me lamps and quick storage compartment.
The Gusto is known to have a slightly boxy design and so we’re guessing that the new G108 will be styled more like the Rodeo UZO. The launch of this new G108 scooter is scheduled for the 12th of January 2016. Stay tuned for more updates as we get them.
