At its full capacity, the Ola factory will produce 10 million electric vehicles per annum
(UPDATE: The Ola S1 has been launched in India with a starting price of Rs 99,999. Head here to read the launch story)
In his recent tweet, Ola co-founder Bhavish Aggarwal shared the latest update on the Ola e-scooter factory based out of Tamil Nadu. The first phase of construction is almost complete, and it has taken just four months.
In addition, it seems like the Ola scooter is also nearing production, with the co-founder asking for opinions on possible colour options in one of his previous tweets.

The Ola factory, being built over 500 acres, will be the world’s largest two-wheeler facility. At optimum capacity, it will roll out 10 million scooters annually, translating to a new e-scooter every two seconds.
More importantly, the estate will have 100 acres of forest cover and produce a negative carbon footprint. This, paired with the 2 acres of forest inside the factory, will make it the most sustainable two-wheeler facility in the world if Ola is to be believed.
With all the development happening as per schedule, it shouldn't be too long before the Ola Electric Scooter graces the market. We expect it to be priced at around Rs 1 lakh. It will rival the Ather 450X, TVS iQube Electric, Bajaj Chetak, and the upcoming Simple Energy Mark 2.
