Here are five two-wheelers you can opt for instead of the Ola S1
On India’s 75th Independence Day, Ola Electric launched the S1 e-scooter, at an introductory price tag of Rs 99,999 (effective ex-showroom Delhi). The S1 is, hence, Ola Electric’s most affordable offering till date. That said, if its price tag hasn’t left you impressed and you want to check out a few alternatives at a similar price, here are your options:
Bajaj Pulsar NS 125 - Rs 1,04,371 (ex-showroom Delhi)
The first option on the list is the NS 125, the tried-and-tested bike from Bajaj. For a paltry Rs 4,372 more, you get a 124.4cc air-cooled motor that belts out 11.99PS and 11Nm. Besides, the 125cc Bajaj is quite frugal and offers a mileage of 64.75kmpl in the city and 56.46kmpl out on the highway.
TVS Raider (Disc Variant) - Rs 92,689 (ex-showroom Delhi)
For Rs 7,310 less than the Ola S1, you could get yourself one of the best 125cc motorcycles on sale, the TVS Raider. The Raider’s peppy engine and modern design, combined with its relatively economical engine might be something that could appeal to the ones who find the NS 125’s design dated. All in all, the TVS Raider 125 is an ideal choice for those looking for a sporty 125cc bike.
Simple One - Rs 1,09,999
If you’d rather remain in the electric scooter territory, it’s difficult to match the Simple One, at this price point. For Rs 10,000 more, you get a scooter with a 7kW (peak output) motor, that puts out best-in-class 72Nm. This can propel the scooter from 0 to 40kmph in a mere 2.85 seconds, making it the quickest electric scooter (on paper) to go on sale in India.
The Simple One is also a feature-rich offering, as it gets all-LED lighting, a massive 30-litre underseat storage, swappable batteries and fast charging, among other features. Its 7-inch TFT instrument console packs OTA updates, geo fencing, a tyre pressure monitoring system, vehicle tracking, and can even store documents.
Oben Rorr - Rs 1,02,999
By spending just Rs 3,000 more, you can get yourself an electric motorcycle in the form of the Oben Rorr. For the extra money, you get a motorcycle that can accelerate from 0-40kmph in a claimed 3 seconds, and boasts a claimed top speed of a healthy 100kmph. It offers three modes: Eco, City and Havoc.
The claimed true range in Havoc stands at 100km, whereas the City and Eco mode offer 120km and 150km respectively. Further adding to the practicality is a generous 200mm ground clearance and a 230mm water wading capability.
TVS NTorq 125 XT - Rs 97,061
When it comes to sporty 125cc scooters, the TVS NTorq 125 makes a very strong case for itself. Costing Rs 2,938 less than the Ola S1, you can get yourself the top-spec NTorq 125 XT. The XT variant gets a new TFT and LCD instrument cluster combination, lighter alloy wheels and switch-operated active voice command features over the NTorq 125 RaceXP Edition.
The TVS scooter not only packs a punchy 124.8cc engine that makes 9.38PS and 10.5Nm, but also comes loaded to the T with features, as is typical with TVS two-wheelers.
