All scooters have seen chunky price hikes. Here’s why
With the revision in the FAME II subsidy, electric scooters were obviously going to get a whole lot more expensive. So if you’re looking to buy an Ola scooter, here’s how much each trim will set you back by:
Current Price |
Rs 1,09,999 |
Rs 1,29,999 |
Rs 1,39,999 |
Previous Price |
Rs 99,999 |
Rs 1,14,999 |
Rs 1,24,999 |
Difference |
Rs, 10,000 |
Rs 15,000 |
Rs 15,000 |
Note that these are all ex-showroom Bengaluru prices. The S1 and S1 Air are the 3kWh ones, since the brand has discontinued the 2kWh line of scooters.

Yes, the sudden increase in their asking prices is substantial, but that’s the EV industry’s reality. The FAME II subsidies were never a long-term solution and the moment its veil is removed, big prices are what you’ll be faced with, at least for now. We hope EV makers are soon able to localise more of their manufacturing and hence bring costs down.
