The Vespa lookalike has made its first public appearance at the EV India Expo 2021
Hyderabad-based One-Moto has launched its new electric scooter, the Electa, at the EV India Expo 2021. It is the third product from the company and has been priced at Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the most expensive e-scooter from the company yet, and here's what it packs:
The One-Moto Electa uses a 4kW BLDC hub motor that can help it attain a claimed top speed of 100kmph. This motor is paired with a removable 72V 45Ah lithium-ion battery pack that the company claims will give a range of 150km. There's no mention of fast charging, but the e-scooter takes four hours for a full charge.

The One-Moto Electa features a very Italian, Vespa-like styling. Everything, from its curvy panels to the storage box on the side, is reminiscent of the 90s' scooters. That said, unlike the styling, the underpinnings aren't all old-school. The Electa features dual shocks at both ends, the rear being preload-adjustable. It even gets disc brakes at both ends.
One-Moto has equipped the Electa with a digital display that can be connected to the 'One-App', which comes with geo-fencing and features maintenance alerts and commuting behaviour. That said, there's no navigation or call/message alert on the console.
One-Moto is offering a 3-year warranty on the motor, controller, and battery. However, the Rs 1.99 lakh price tag is a deal-breaker, especially considering the features on offer and the brand's scant presence in the country.
The company is attempting to gain a foothold in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Pondicherry, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. It intends to expand to 6-8 new states by the end of the financial year.
