Piaggio Inaugurates Fourth Motoplex In India

Looking at the success of its three premium retail concept stores in India, Piaggio has now opened another one in Kochi.

The Italian auto giant and multi brand holder, Piaggio, has launched another premium retail concept store in India. After establishing similar outlets in Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai, this is India's fourth Motoplex and is located in Kochi. Inaugurated by Stefano Pelle, managing director and CEO, Piaggio India, the store is located in Padivattom and spans across an area of 4,950 sq ft.

Commenting on the inauguration of yet another Motoplex, Pelle said, “We are delighted to launch our concept store in Kochi. This is our fourth store in the country and third in south India. The Motoplex concept reflects the innovative vision of the Piaggio Group by offering consumers a unique experience of Italian biking under one roof. The store also aims to provide an overview of the two-wheeler world, apart from showcasing the long-standing history of our brands – Vespa, Aprilia and Moto Guzzi. It highlights the fascinating journey of the brands that proudly stand for ‘Made in Italy’. The Motoplex store aims to achieve the same success it has had internationally with the display of various brands from the Piaggio’s stable. South India has been a strategic two-wheeler market and so we are expanding our footprint in this region.”

Motoplex is a global concept, providing innovative in-store experience to Piaggio customers around the world. In these stores, the company offers two-wheelers from three premium brands -- Vespa, Moto Guzzi and Aprilia. Apart from bikes and scooters, merchandise, accessories and apparels are also available. So, it is a platform for enthusiasts to explore their favourite Piaggio brands.

Currently under its performance brand Aprilia, the Piaggio Group sells the SRV 850 ABS ATC, the Caponord 1200 range, the Mana 850, the Dorsoduro 1200, the Tuono V4 1100 range, and the RSV4 supersport range in India. Its cruiser brand, Moto Guzzi, offers the Griso 1200, the California, the Audace and the Eldorado within the country. While the Vespa, the Vespa Elegante, the Vespa VXL 125, the Vespa SXL 125, the Vespa VXL 150, and the Vespa SXL 150 are available under its scooter-only brand. These motorcycles and scooters are available at Motoplex stores in the country.
