Piaggio Vespa VX 125 Specifications Out; To be Launched Later this Month

Iconic Italian scooter manufacturer Piaggio, which is already selling premium scooter Vespa LX 125 in India, has now introduced a more premium and sportier variant of Vespa scooter called Vespa VX 125. Piaggio has showcased the scooter in Pune. At first glimpse, it is hard to notice the changes as visually, the new scooter is not any different from the existing Vespa LX 125. The new features include a 200mm front disc, a reworked instrumentation cluster, beige seat option, and a more detailed and attractive grab rail. The Vespa VX 125 will be available in two new shades along with Metallic Green and Dual tone Red and Pink.

The VX 125 continues to use same 125cc, four stroke, 3-valve single cylinder engine, delivering a maximum power output of 10.06PS at 7,500rpm and 10.6Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. The engine is mated with the same automatic CVT transmission as well. The VX 125 also features the same monocoque chassis and linked suspension at front and single-sided suspension at rear that of the Vespa LX 125. However, the Vespa VX gets better tyres this time and sports MRF Zapper tubeless tyres, which provide better grip and result in better ride.

Being a premium scooter, Vespa is not huge in numbers, however it managed to carve out a niche for itself. It manages to sell around 4,500 units every month, which is more of a result of its hefty price tag. Piaggio hasn’t revealed the pricing of the new scooter yet, but it is clear that the VX 125 will cost slightly more than the standard model as it is loaded with new features. We are expecting it to be launched later this month.
