Its fascia looks oddly similar to that of the BMW S 1000 RR
China-based two-wheeler brand QJ Motor (Benelli’s parent company) has been working on a new quarter-litre faired motorcycle, called the Race 250. The bike was recently spotted in flesh and here’s what it’s all about.
On the design front, apart from the BMW S 1000 RR-ish front end, the Race 250 has taken inspiration from the 2021 Benelli 302R. Along with the fairing vents on both sides, the 250’s tail section also resembles that of the 302R.

It’s likely to be powered by a 249.4cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor with the output rated at about 28PS and 23Nm.
The bike is sprung on a USD front fork and a rear monoshock. Its braking hardware consists of a single disc at both ends, with ABS as standard. One of the most attractive features on the QJ Motor Race 250 is its single-sided swingarm.
All said and done, the bike looks ready for production and should be launched soon internationally. While QJ Motor wouldn’t bring the bike to India, it could use the Race 250’s motor in a different state of tune for the upcoming Benelli Leoncino 250.
