Registrations Open For The First Royal Enfield Tour of Tibet

In India, when we think about the two wheeler rally sport or tours, the very first name clicks the mind is Royal Enfield. It was Royal Enfield that started the trend of two wheeler touring in India. The company organizes many tours, every year at different places in the country. This is the first edition of the 'Royal Enfield Tour to Tibet', which shall be flagged off from Lucknow on the 28th of September 2013. Registrations are open for the riders, who want to participate in the tour. The first Royal Enfield ride to this mystical land will have 25 riders from across India to set off on this epic journey to Lhasa and back. With an average elevation of 4500 metres, the ride will ensure that one gets to experience a very unique adventure and get to ride on some of the greatest roads in the Himalayas.
The additional adventure that sets this ride apart is the journey to the famed Everest base camp and back. This ride is for the owners of Royal Enfield motorcycles and also goes over stretches of rough terrain as part of the ride, hence pillions are not allowed on this ride. Here are the eligibility criterion and registration instructions for the interested riders-
Eligibility Criterion:
• Royal Enfield Tour of Tibet is open only for Royal Enfield motorcycle owners.
• Riders should have a valid driving license for motorcycle with gear, permitted to ride in India.
• Motorcycle registration, insurance and PUC certificates should be valid for the duration of the trip.
• Personal Medical Insurance (Mediclaim) is mandatory and should be valid for the duration of the trip.
• Riding gear is mandatory. It should consist of a full face helmet, ankle length boots, full sleeves riding jacket preferably with protectors, gloves and knee and elbow guards. Flip open full face helmets are not permitted.
• On the Tour of Tibet with high altitudes and weather conditions, physical fitness is paramount. One of the important aspects of enjoying and completing the Tour of Tibet is the Participant’s fitness level. For this purpose, each participant will need to undergo a physical fitness test in Lucknow on the First day. To pass this test, each participant should be to run 5kms and do 50 push-ups in 1 hour.
• Motorcycles should be ready for the Tour of Tibet as per the guidelines given under Bike Preparation.
Registration Instructions:
Each participant fills in the Registration form and provides a medical history by-self online.
Each participant then has to send the following:-
1. Two passport size photographs with name and rider number behind
2. Indemnity Bond
3. Medical History by Doctor
Each participant then has to send the soft copies of the following to kgomes@royalenfield.com
1. Scan of passport front and the back
2. Scan of bike paper and insurance
3. Photograph of his bike, front and back with number plate visible
Each participant needs to carry with him/her to lucknow:
1. Original license and bike paper 2 copies
2. Passport
All forms should be complete and signed. They will be available for download on the day registration opens.
1. Copy of Your Driving License
2. Copy of Vehicle Registration, Tax and Insurance certificate valid for the duration of the trip.
3. Copy of Medical Insurance Policy (Mediclaim) valid for the duration of the trip.
All documents can be sent along with Demand Draft of INR 1, 50,000 drawn in the name of “Eicher Motors Ltd.”, payable at Chennai to the following address:
