Revolt Intellicorp has unveiled its first electric motorcycle, the RV 400. The new electric bike will be manufactured at Revolt’s production facility in Manesar, Haryana. It will have 75 per cent localisation, allowing it to qualify for the Government’s FAME II subsidy. The RV 400 is expected to be priced around Rs 1 lakh after discounting the subsidy. It can be booked on Revolt's website and amazon.in from June 25 onwards by paying Rs 1,000. The RV 400 will first be available in Delhi NCR, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Ahmedabad and Chennai.
Revolt’s RV 400 is styled like a naked street bike and has compact dimensions. It features LED headlamps, tail lamp and turn indicators and has a digital instrument console. First-in-class features include the ability to start your bike remotely via your smartphone and an artificial exhaust note that makes the silent electric bike sound like a conventional motorcycle.
You can also switch between different exhaust sounds via the Revolt app. Another unique feature is the ability to start your bike via your smartphone. The dedicated smartphone app coupled with an inbuilt geo-fencing feature on the bike gives you the ability to locate your bike and set a perimeter manually to work as an anti-theft feature. You can also store your documents on the app. The features and ECU updates can be done remotely via OTA (Over The Air) updates.
The motorcycle gets a lightweight portable lithium-ion battery. According to ARAI certification, the Revolt bike has a range of 156km and a top speed limited to 85kmph. The RV 400 comes with an inbuilt charging cord which connects to a 15 amp socket for charging. Charging time is 4 hours.
The portable battery can be taken indoors and charged similar to the way you would charge your phone. When your battery is running low, the Revolt app will guide you to the nearest Mobile Revolt battery swap station. Here you can swap your battery by scanning a QR code from your app. Another unique feature is the ability to order a battery from home via your smartphone. There are three rider mode on offer: Eco, City and Sport.
Price-wise, the Revolt electric bike will compete against conventional bikes like the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and Suzuki Gixxer.
