India’s first electric motorcycle to go on sale tomorrow
- Design sketches reveal that it will be a naked bike.
- The bike has an ARAI-certified range of 156km.
- Top speed could be restricted to 85kmph.
India will be getting its first electric motorcycle tomorrow as Revolt Intellicorp is launching its first product tomorrow. The product will be made in India at the company’s manufacturing plant in Manesar plant.
Revolt had previously issued a press statement when its upcoming product had cleared the homologation procedure in April. During the tests, the product received an ARAI-certified range figure of 156km. The motorcycle is claimed to have its top-speed capped off at 85kmph. Swappable lithium-ion battery technology will also be present on the bike, which is similar to 22Kymco’s Ionex tech found on the iFlow scooter.
The product is eligible to receive FAME II subsidy as currently it is over 75 per cent localised. Revolt is planning to make it fully localised by the end of 2020. It is likely to be priced around Rs 1 lakh, on-road.
