Royal Enfield unveiled three 650-twin-based customs- ‘Lock Stock’, ‘Interceptor’ and ‘Rohini’ at the 2018 Wheels and Waves festival in France. Let’s see all the modifications they’ve made to the bikes:

Lock Stock by Royal Enfield:

The Lock Stock is a custom build, made by Royal Enfield themselves. The Chennai-based motorcycle manufacturer teamed up with UK-based Harris Performance and S&S Cycles from USA to create this drag machine. The changes are so massive that it is hard to believe that the bike was once the Continental GT 650. The Lock Stock is the first custom Royal Enfield to use the new 650-twin platform. The list of modifications that this bike has gone through is a perfect example of exploring the limitless possibilities of customization:

  • Carbon fibre tank cover, lower fairings and headlamp surround

The ‘Interceptor’ by Old Empire Motorcycles:

The ‘Interceptor’ has been built keeping minimalism in mind. It takes the concept to an extreme with clean handlebars devoid of even the brake and clutch levers. Royal Enfield says the wires and cables are hidden with internalised controls like twist-grip clutch and throttle. Adding a dose of modernity is the new keyless ignition integrated into matching riding gloves! The integrated front and rear brakes have also been linked with a fully adjustable proportioning valve! As the name suggests, the base motorcycle is the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, and here’s its list of mods:

  • Body: Hand formed aluminium
  • Chassis: Modified subframe
  • Modified, lowered and shaved front end
  • Tires: Michelin Racetech track/street tyres
  • Bars: Handmade dual bars
  • Controls: Integrated internal twist grip clutch and throttle
  • Modified yokes; Old Empire Oxblood leather foot controls and grips
  • Seat: Oxblood leather and Alcantara
  • Tank: Stock, with custom flush filler cap
  • Exhaust: Handmade big bore stainless steel
  • Brakes: Integrated front and rear linked system with fully adjustable proportioning valve
  • Electrics: Custom wiring loom with keyless ignition integrated into rider glove
  • Motor and accessories finish: Black Ceracote
  • Body finish: Black base with candy red paint

Rohini by Young Guns Speed Shop:

The Continental GT 650 is in itself a good-looking cafe racer. And it just got even more wholesome with Switzerland-based Young Guns Speed Shop’s build. The motorcycle draws inspiration from India’s space program and its Rohini satellites. However, they wanted to keep the modification as minimal as possible, and hence retained the mechanical components. The motorcycle features a slim, aerodynamic front fairing and a monocoque seat/tail unit. While the paint job looks relatively sober; in the dark, a layer of reflective paint transforms the classic lines into what Royal Enfield calls “a riot of Razzle Dazzle light” - blurring the lines between being beautifully retro and wildly modern. Check out the mods in this custom:

  • Body: Hand fabricated fiberglass front fairing and monocoque seat / tail unit
  • Switches and tachometer: Motogadget.
  • Exhaust system: All hand fabricated, including silencer
  • Handlebar: By LSL
  • Paint job: Both standard and Razzle Dazzle effect by Pfeil design
  • Footrests: Tarrozzi with handmade brackets.
  • Levers by Magura
  • Rear shocks by Ohlins.
